A recent research by Forexsuggest has revealed that Kenya ranks 1st in Africa and 3rd globally in cryptocurrency adoption among women, using cryptocurrency ownership levels among men and women as engagement yardstick.

Kenya along with other developing nations like Vietnam, Indonesia and Colombia, from the report, have strong indicators of cryptocurrency involvement among women as against other nations of the world, the report says. With 47%, Vietnam recorded the highest globally, Seconded by Indonesia with a 43% engagement, followed by a 42% tie between Kenya and Colombia.

This report is only a tip of the spear on how well women are represented in cryptocurrency in 2023 in terms of leadership and influence. There is a need to ensure a healthy dose of representation among men and women in the cryptosphere. So the study analyzed 50 leading blockchain companies to examine their leadership roles.

From the finding, it was concluded that only 6% of global CEOs are women, while men are topping the chart with over 94% in top executive positions. Notwithstanding, 77.6% of men are holding other leadership positions globally in the cryptocurrency industry while women only occupy about 22.4%.

The report went ahead to examine women’s representation in cryptocurrency in terms of influence. An examination of the Top 50 influencers on X, (former Twitter) reveals that only 7 women, representing 14%, were prominent voices among women in crypto.
